1,200 mg of Calcium supplements per day.
Although its effectiveness in reducing menopausal symptoms is
yet to be proven, Red Clover is one of the most popular supplements today. Women who are
diagnosed with breast or uterus cancer however are advised against taking Red Clover
supplements. The recommended daily dose is 80 mg.
Other Supplements for Menopause
Valerian herb is a perennial herb that is considered to be a natural mild sedative. It can be
helpful to women experiencing insomnia because of hot flashes. Women are advised to take 600 mg of Valerian
root supplement two hours before going to bed. Considered as a natural antiseptic, Turmeric is also
considered to be a reliable herb that can relieve menopause related symptoms. Aside from that, it is also known to
treat digestive problems and improve one’s memory. Turmeric supplements can be taken 750mg to 1.5 grams each
day.
It
can be common for menopausal women to complain of cold hands and feet and this can be the result of poor blood
circulation. Because Ginkgo Biloba is an herb known to be good in improving the body’s blood
circulation, women who are undergoing menopause are advised to take it. Besides that, it is also known to
increase a woman’s libido. When hormones drop, the drive for sex also disappears. Taking Ginkgo will help
restore sexual desires in menopausal women. The recommended dose for this is at 120mg to 240 mg per day. Other
supplements which are taken by women with menopause include Green Tea, Coenzyme Q10 and Ginseng.
