There are other recipes that you can use for your hemorrhoids aside from Epsom salts. Instead of adding Epsom salts, you can add a few drops of lavender and juniper oils to your sitz bath. These essential oils can promote blood circulation and eliminate toxic wastes. Shepherd’s Purse, which is an herb, can also be added to the sitz bath as this is known to repair wounds and reduce swelling. In preparing this herb for the bath, just place one ounce of Shepherd’s Purse in two quarts of water and let this sit for 12 hours. Boil this mixture for three minutes, strain and pour the mixture in the warm sitz bath.

Warm sitz bath hemorrhoids should be done regularly in order to successfully shrink hemorrhoids and relieve pain. Generally, doctors are recommending this method to be performed several times a day.
