And Tips for Controlling High Blood Pressure
Herbal Treatments for Hypertension
Hypertension is a very serious condition which affects both old and young people. There are
several factors attributed to its development but medical experts are yet to determine what exactly
causes high blood pressure. Most of the time, medications are prescribed to hypertensive patients.
However, many are choosing to try herbal treatments for high blood pressure. Controlling high blood
pressure can be possible with the use natural home remedies like the following.
The herb Hawthorn is considered as a traditional herbal treatment for high
blood pressure and has been used for centuries in Europe and Asia. A recent study conducted in the UK
showed supports this. Patients with high blood pressure were given 1200 mg of Hawthorn each day and their blood pressure improved
significantly after 16 weeks.
Hawthorn works by blocking an enzyme called ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) which in turn dilates the blood
vessels – improving circulation and normalizing blood pressure. Hawthorn is not known to interfere with other
medications.
Juice and oil of Bloodwort also have good antihypertensive properties. Because it is able
to increase blood circulation and induce heavy perspiration, it also helps lower high blood pressure. It is a
bitter tonic though Bloodwort juice can be taken every day in order to better see its results.
