Remedies for Rheumatoid Arthritis
There are many effective herbal remedies for rheumatoid arthritis. Natural herbs can help ease symptoms of RA in
2 ways. One way is to pull uric acid from the joint and reduce inflammation and the other way is to combine this
with joint lubrication to achieve ease of movement.
A very effective herbal remedy for rheumatoid arthritis is Chinese skull cap. It has tested and
proven anti-inflammatory properties and unlike commonly prescribed anti-arthritic drugs by common health care
professionals it has no known side effects. It's high levels of flavonoids is what makes it effective. The high
level of anti-oxidants gobble up free running oxygen molecules that otherwise would fuel joint degradation.
Blue berries and cherries have a similar effect in that they are high in
anti-oxidants and another excellent natural herbal remedy to get uric acid out of joints are dandelion and celery
seed.
Boswellia is another effective herbal remedy for RA. It can be bought in pill form. It has
excellent anti-inflammatory properties and so is effective in reducing inflammation with practically no side
effects other than possible leaving a strange taste in the mouth and possibly upset stomach if taken in high doses.
Many say that it's more effective than Naproxen without the price tag and side effects.
Curcumin is also widely known and used by those suffering from RA. Many say it works wonders on
painful stiffness but can upset the stomach if taken without food. But because it like Boswellia reduces
inflammation it's a must have for your RA arsenal.
Gamma-linolenic Acid is also another excellent herbal cure for RA. It suppresses
inflammation and joint tissue injury and can be found in both primrose oils and black currant seed oil. You
can mix these into soups, take them straight or put them on salads etc.
Another common herbal remedies for rheumatoid arthritis is to lubricate the joint. This can be used in
conjunction with the above herbs as 2 headed attack. Omega 3 fatty acids are cheap and effective joint
lubricants.
You can find Omega 3 fatty acids in foods like salmon, sardines and other fresh water fish. You can also buy it
very cheaply in pill form and use it to supplement your diet when you can't or don't want to eat fish.
It's worth noting that farm raised fish have much lower levels of Omega 3 fatty acids than those that
are not specifically raised or produced for eating.
